چکیده

Abstract In the present study, optimization of microbiologically induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) to produce biosandstone regarding compressive strength is shown. For production, quartz sand was treated sequentially with ureolytic microorganism Sporosarcina pasteurii (ATCC 11859) and a reagent containing urea chloride. Response surface methodology (RSM) applied investigate influence concentration, chloride concentration volume cell suspension on produced biosandstone. A central composite design (CCD) employed, resulting experimental data quadratic model. The statistical significance model verified by (R 2 = 0.9305). Optimized values for were 1492 mM 1391 mM. during treatment 7.47 mL determined as optimum. Specimen under these conditions achieved 1877 ± 240 kPa. This an improvement 144% over specimen that commonly used in literature (1000 urea/1000 CaCl ). protocol allows more efficient production future research MICP.

Photocatalytic Removal of Amaranth Optimization Using Response Surface Methodology

Since Amaranth (AM) is one of the dye compounds which is harmful to human’s life its removal from industrial waste water would reduce their environmental impact and health effect. Copper nanoparticle (CuNP) is a simple and eco-friendly material which can be used to remove this pollutant. In this paper, copper nanoparticles were synthesized, for removal of AM dye. The experiments were designed b...

Developing New Processes and Optimizing Performance Using Response Surface Methodology

Response surface methodology (RSM) is a very efficient tool to provide a good practical insight into developing new process and optimizing them. This methodology could help engineers to raise a mathematical model to represent the behavior of system as a convincing function of process parameters. Through this paper the sequential nature of the RSM surveyed for process engineers and its relations...

Response Surface Methodology for Optimizing Hyper Parameters

The performance of an algorithm often largely depends on some hyper parameter which should be optimized before its usage. Since most conventional optimization methods suffer from some drawbacks, we developed an alternative way to find the best hyper parameter values. Contrary to the well known procedures, the new optimization algorithm is based on statistical methods since it uses a combination...
